Thanks for checking in!

I started this blog to keep in touch with my family and friends during my time attending Commissioned Officer Training (COT) and the Judge Advocate Staff Officer Course (JASOC) at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Now I'm done with training and back in the "real" world, but I'll keep updating this blog with any interesting developments from my JAG career.

The DFW USO

I had a quick stopover at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) on my way to Montgomery, which gave me a chance to go to a USO for the first time.  I was really impressed!  The place had a big screen with about fifteen recliners in front, a kids’ room with toys and puzzles, free food, a foozball table, board games, and even a couple of guitars.  The place was crowded with people in uniform—Army and Air Force, mostly—and others in civilian clothes, like me.  The NFL playoff game between Baltimore and Kansas City had a lot to do with that, I’m sure.  I was also interested to find out that family members of military personnel can use the USO, so I’ll have to make sure that Susan and Joaquin check it out on their way out to see me in February.

This is a really cool wall in the storage room, with all kinds of patches.

Love the big screen and recliners - and check out the guitar in the corner!

There's even a play room for the kiddies.
